Day 7: Diffuse + Ingest Peppermint

A favorite oil of our friends with school age children to diffuse during study time is Peppermint. It’s so fresh + invigorating! Studies have shown that Peppermint improves focus and test scores when ingested or inhaled during tests. Add that to a diffuser necklace/bracelet and send with your kids!

Another yummy tip is to add it to hot chocolate in the cold months. I sometimes add it to coffee with a little bit of cocoa powder to make a homemade peppermint mocha! YUM!

Or if you or your kids have any issues with the motion of being in a car, etc. it's great to diffuse in an ORB-diffuser. It's spill proof and plugs right into the lighter.

Thanks to Margaret Schrock for this helpful tip!

Day 6: Immunity Support with Super C

My friend Emily Anderson shares a tip for daily Immune Support:
"With 6 kids, I’m always on the lookout for ways to support our immune systems. One way is with the Super C supplements. Each kiddo gets a chewable Super C vitamin in the morning before school. And the parents take a Super C tablet (not chewable). Both of these items are powerful antioxidants + vitamin C supplements. Chances are, your kids aren’t getting the daily dose of Vitamin C that is needed to help support their body. Consider adding this supplement into their daily routine."

Day 5: Chocolate Peanut Butter No-Bake Energy Bites

When we know our mornings are going to be hectic (AKA every morning), we like to make these energy bites in advance to have on hand. These no-bake energy bites taste just like a cookie, although they are full of protein and naturally sweetened. There is only 15 minutes of prep time and no baking!

Chocolate Peanut Butter No-Bake Energy Bites

-1 cup (dry) oatmeal (gluten free oats can be used)
-2/3 cup toasted unsweetened coconut flakes
-1/2 cup peanut butter
-1/2 cup ground flax seed
-1/3 cup honey or agave nectar
-1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-3 or 4 drops of Thieves Vitality oil

1. Stir all ingredients together in a medium bowl until thoroughly mixed.
2. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least half an hour, to make the mix easier to handle and mold.
3. Once chilled, roll into balls of whatever size you would like. (Mine were about 1" in diameter.)
4. Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week. Makes about 20-25 bites.

*If the mix seems to dry, add in an extra tablespoon or two of honey or peanut butter. If the mix seems too wet (which may happen if you use natural peanut butter), add extra oatmeal. Thanks to @amycaudill_essentials for this delicious recipe!

Day 4: Immune Support with NingXia Red

Depending on where you live, it is most likely still pretty hot when the kids head back to school. Our kids drink a shot of Ningxia Red every morning to help support a healthy immune and digestive system. We have found a way to mix it up a little and add some excitement to their daily dose of wellness: Ningxia slushies!

Blend the following:

-½ cup frozen strawberries

-½ cup frozen pineapples

-2 ounces of Ningxia Red

Serve + enjoy, it’s delicious!

Bishop knows what's up 😂

Daily NingXia is how we ALL like to get our day started. Oh my gosh, this is so stinkin adorable. Or maybe it's because he's mine!? Either way, I had to share.

NingXia Red Slushies in place of snowballs for a yummy summer treat! I've never met a sugary snowball that supports overall wellbeing, normal energy levels, normal cellular function, and normal eye health. But they sure are yummy, aren't they? 😂 If you don't have time to whip out the blender for the recipe above, just pour some NingXia over shaved ice and give this alternative a try!

Day 3: Diffuse and Apply

Going back to school can be tough on all members of the family. Everyone needs some inspiration + motivation to switch gears and get back into the groove. Diffuse some Highest Potential during breakfast or run some through your hair (and your kiddos!), so that you are always performing your best. This is one our Gideon scans for frequently. I think it has something to do with the blend Gathering being in it. It helps to calm chaotic energy. Yep, sounds about right. It's amazing how quickly these oils work for calming when you find the right ones.

Day 2: Thieves Cough Drops

Are you bracing yourselves for the sore throats to start come September? These Thieves Cough Drops are a quick way to boost your child’s immune system while riding to and from school. They're so soothing for a cough and sore throat and they cool nasal passages as well. Definitely a good one to pop in your kid's backpack just in case. The cough drops we used growing up are full of nasty chemicals, but not these. They are completely chemical-free and full of nature's purest essential oils. Get some!

Day 1: Wellness Tool Kit for Kids

As parents, we have a big job training our children to be good stewards of their bodies. One of the best ways to do that, is equipping them to be responsible for their own wellness. How about making a mini wellness toolkit, for them to keep in their backpack? This can be something they keep tucked away in their lockers, at the bottom of their book bag or in their desk/cubby at school. It needs to be somewhere easily accessible to them, without breaking the rules of the school. A good idea is to make sure the teacher knows ahead of time, that your kiddo has this and what’s in it.

Wellness Toolkit for Kids:

1.Clean & Healthy Head Spray - 1/2 oz Witch Hazel, 1.5 oz Distilled Water, 10 drops Lavender, 10 drops Rosemary & 4 drops Tea Tree. Spray in hair, hats & backpacks whenever needed.

2.Hand cleaner - 5 tablespoons Aloe Vera Gel, 3-4 tablespoons Water, ¼ teaspoon Vitamin E oil & 8-10 drops Thieves. Rub on hands. (OR, just purchase the Thieves Hand Purifier-It's my favorite. So silky and smells so good. Doesn't dry your hands out either.)

3.Tummy roller - 3 drops Lemon, 3 drops Frankincense, 1 drop Peppermint & fill w/carrier oil of your choice. Roll on tummy area.

4.Focus roller - 10 drops Frankincense, 10 drops Copaiba, 10 drops Cedarwood, 10 drops Vetiver & fill the rest w/carrier oil of your choice. Roll on neck or wrists.

Include a few band-aids and lip balms and you’ve got a little kit that your kiddo can reach for anytime! You can store the supplies in a zip top bag, a pencil box or even a cute little bag from the Target dollar spot…get creative! Thanks to @heatherbuelow for this Wellness Toolkit suggestion! #BackToSchoolWithEssentialFamilies
