In Loving Memory

This brilliant woman has left a legacy that is indescribable. Though we never met face to face, she has touched our lives more than most. She has given us hope. She has taught us how to love our children well and to make sense of the unique struggles we face as an adoptive family. I'm so grateful she was able to see her staff step in this weekend and do her proud before she went to meet Jesus. So heartbroken over this news. I never knew you could mourn so hard for someone you never even met, but she impacted our lives so profoundly. Bless you Karyn Purvis and thank you! Prayers for the many many people she touched who are mourning with us.

Happy Spray

Today's post is from my dear friend Amber at YLThrive!

I used to love body spray from BBW....until I found out what was in them {not good}! Yesterday I whipped up my own little body spray and it made me so happy this morning! I filled this little glass spray bottle {snagged off amazon} up with distilled water, 10 drops of joy, 5 drops of bergamot, 5 drops of patchouli, and a squirt of witch hazel. Shake it up and spray happiness! I might try spraying it on my kids too when they start to complain or whine. I'll let you know how that works out!!!

I tried this out immediately and it's SO good. So much better than the synthetic fragrances you can buy in stores. The amount of added benefits to support your body in these oils is incredible too! Can't say that about a perfume spray, can you!?

On behalf of Bishop's 2 Year Forever Family Day, I'm offering something I've never offered before from now through Valentine's Day. You've all heard me swoon over the oil that changed our life, our beloved WHITE ANGELICA. It's the oil that helped our Bishop to sleep when we had tried everything else. Well, in addition to the 10% off from Young Living this month and the extra 10% back from me which brings your starter kit cost to $128 (usually $160), I'm also offering a sample of White Angelica. I always say this oil smells how I imagine heaven will smell.

You'll also get an oily supply kit with all the extras you need to get started...roller bottles, capsules and carrier oil. There's no better time to make this investment in your health.

DIY Deodorant

Did you know that chemical deodorant is thought by some to be one of the most harmful products in most of our homes? It contains aluminum. Some scientists suggest that aluminum applied near the breasts can cause breast cancer. Scary stuff. So WHY are we putting this right near our lymph nodes?? Right!?

Did you know that you can use several of the oils in your Young Living Premium Starter kit to make your own homemade deodorant?

Here's how it's done. Easy peasy!

Sit a small glass jar in a pan of boiling water with just enough water to come up about 1/2 way up the jar.
Melt 2 tbsp shea butter and 3 tbsp coconut oil over VERY low heat until just melted.
Remove from heat and add 3 tbsp baking soda and 2 tbsp cornstarch.
Stir until smooth.
Add 10 drops lavender, 10 drops purification and 10 drops Frankincense.
Pour into glass storage container and refrigerate until solid. Apply to underarms.
